SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK HAS NEW SMOKE AND MIRRORS SAFETY RULES - Broadway To Vegas column - December 26, 2010

http://www.broadwaytovegas.com/December26,2010.html

Great article. I had relatives in the 'specialty act' field. If you want to stay alive or out of a wheel chair you don't cut corners or get careless.

HOSPITALIZED SPIDER-MAN STUNTMAN IN SERIOUS CONDITION - Broadway To Vegas column - December 19, 2010

http://www.broadwaytovegas.com/December19,2010.html

I heard a report that Bellevue Hospital lists the stuntman Christopher Tierney in serious condition. Somebody stop this madness. People who buy tickets to see Broadway shows aren't barbarians who want to pay to see somebody get hurt.

Rig up Julie Taymor and let her swing across the theater. That might
change her thoughts about how to stage this disaster.

http://www.broadwaytovegas.com/December19,2010.html

A live stage production is not a blood and guts action movie. A live stage production should give the ILLUSION of danger, NOT be dangerous for either the performers or the audience. This needs to stop!!

LEAD STUNT DOUBLE INJURED IN SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK - Broadway To Vegas column December 19, 2010

http://www.broadwaytovegas.com/December19,2010.html

No excuse for these injuries to keep happening. Somebody needs to take control and put the safety of the actors as top priority, just as safety in the work place is the top priority for all businesses. Broadway should be no different.

They've added more flying stunts. As long as the public keeps buying tickets the producers are getting a lot of free publicity.

I'm glad Natalie Mendoza is alive. For anyone hit in the head, listen to the doctor. She has that show-must-go-on attitude, but she could have ended up like Natasha Richardson. I hope she is going to be okay.
